When I participate in a NetMeeting conference or any Video conference, other party can SEE and HEAR me, but I can only see them. My mic. is working properly, the volume is turned on, everthing else seems in good order! What could be the problem . I'm running OS Windows 98SE and NetMeeting Version 3.01, MSN Messenger version 5.0

in netmeeting...the 3 buttons in the middle.
The far right hand side is "adjust audio volume" (picture of a speaker and a mic)
Make sure the check boxes are marked.


you may also want to play with the setting under Tools - options - Audio
Mine are set to Enable Full Duplex
Enable Auto gain
and Automatically adjust

Silence detection is set to Adjust silence automatically

All buttons are correctly set. The full-duplex is used by both participants. I don't know what is wrong?

so who is having the problem? you go back and forth. You say you cannot hear them but you say you do have your mic turned on. Which is it? Sounds like a problem on their end if you cannot hear them.

yeah, if you can't hear them it sounds like a problem on their end. unless of course your speakers aren't working.

Maybe their mic is broken.
Or maybe they mute the mic.
