I have a Hard Disk which crashed yesterday. The BIOS doesn't even detect the HDD. I tried all possible things like making it a Slave and connecting to a working computer, putting it in an extenal enclosure, but nothing works.
Is there a way I can make make it detectable to BIOS so that I can use some program like Ghost to make an image before I try to recover any data on it.

There's an article floating around the internet (first published on TechRepublic) titled "200 ways to revive a hard drive". It's not really 200 ways as the most popular are freeze it, drop it & hit it.

Google "200 ways to revive a hard drive" and you'll find links to the pdf document.

The freezing trick has worked for me, but more than freezing the hitting trick and holding the drive in my hand and making a twisting motion as if I was twirling a top has worked for me in the past.

If it's the electronic board on the drive then I think the best thing to do is find the exact model and swap the boards, but I haven't had success with that.
