Full Version: Staples Changing Coupons?

Did anyone get a coupon from Staples in email that had "$30 off any product purchase of $150 or more after Easy Rebate"

Do rebates now count if adjusting the amount spent?? If this is a true change it will hurt putting deals together.

I moved this thread to Deal Discussion

I don't think anyone is quite sure what to make of it yet. This deal makes use of that rebate, but assumes that you can combine it with rebates. Someone reported that they tried to use the coupon, but the Staples manager had no idea what to do with it. I tried calling the number on the coupon to ask them how to use it, and they had no idea and told me to call Staples rebate processing.

From my experience with this new coupon style the only difference is that
you have to file a online rebate to receive the $30 off $150 purchase.
Before they took the $30 off at the time of purchase. For $30 I don't mind
waiting for a Staples easy rebate. I was only required to spend $150.

The difference is, though, that they can now easily limit the number of $30/150 discounts per mailing address/household, even in store.

Yep, here ya go: easy rebate (if that doesn't work, look for offer 07-64359.

QUOTE
Limit 1 rebate per household.

the store I usually like going to was obviously clueless...they took down the 4 day special advertisement that had the 30 off 150 and the guy I spoke to said the advertisement was a mistake..... rolleyesold.gif

I wouldn't over panic on this one, yet. during my tenure at staples (5 years) they had come out with ideas and rebates like this as regional tests.

they usually fail and just get discontinued.

also, if they do decide to implement them nation wide, i think it will just help deals, not hurt them.

I doubt ez rebate deals would totally replace staples coupons and other marketing tools that they have been using successfully for years
