After installing & activating the program, its activation information gets stored in the Windows Registry here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CuteReminder\Keys
If you want re-install this program and not lose your "one day" activation settings, the following SHOULD work:
1) Install & activate the software TODAY (12-25-2006)
2) Open up the registry editor by navigating to: Start --> Run --> type "regedit" in the "Open:" box and hit OK
3) Navigate to Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> CuteReminder --> Keys
4) On the LEFT HAND column of the Registry Editor, RIGHT CLICK on the "Keys" section from step #3 above
5) Select the "Export" menu option
6) Save the exported registry file under a filename of your choice (i.e. CuteReminder_Activated_Regkey.reg) in the same location where you downloaded the Cute Reminder installation ZIP file.
To re-install the program & reactivate it (on the SAME MACHINE, probably also under the SAME USER ACCOUNT):
1) Install it as normal (where it starts out as the trial version)
2) Don't bother running the "Activate.exe" utility. Instead, double click on your saved CuteReminder_Activated_Regkey.reg registry file. That will load the exported registry settings containing your activation info.
3) The above doesn't seem to carry over to another PC though. This is because the program calculates a "Hardware ID," presumably a unique value for each machine it gets installed on. The activation process seems to use the HARDWARE ID along w/ the registration code (which does NOT seem to be unique) to store information in the Windows Registry.
