Now IBM pcs are Chinese owned, Lenovo. I'm thinking of buying one but not sure if the quality is still as good as in the past. Anybody just got one plz let me know how you think. Opinions are so much appreciated. Thanks!

We've kept bying Thinkpads at work, and they still work great, we LOVE the T60 series, you can get decent config for $1150 from Newegg, users who get them LOVE it smile.gif

Yay! I just bought one directly from lenovo IBM site T60, with free Triple Major Upgrade, cost me $1,252.72 taxed. Somehow I kinda worry about the new Lenovo build quality though. Hope things turn out to be ok... biggrin.gif

IBM laptops were made in China before, so no big deal.

same people build IBM laptop before and after Lenovo bought IBM laptop business

The awesome thing about T60 is that it finally has Windows key, something IBM never put on.

The Dell Latitude and the Sony Vaio are made by Quanta, who also makes many of the IBM laptops, and the now-discontinued PowerPro C 3:16, and the new PowerPro G 3:14 (Built on Quanta SW1). Quanta is well known as one of the best and highest quality laptop ODM in the world.

I believe Lenovo laptops are still being made by Quanta. The only difference between a Lenovo, a Sony Vaio or a Dell Latitude is the casing, and Lenovo still uses the durable magnesium composite casing
