DD who turns 12 the end of the month wants a digital camera- not too picky on size/options, but don't want a cheapo one either. I want it to work- not like a kids play one. Any ideas? Hopefully under $75

I didn't think those new Difital cams were out yet...

I got my kids some of the clearance Poloroid cams from Target. If there are none in your area WalMart is now carrying some cheap digicams 3-4 megapixel with LCD screens. Also check Surpluscomputers and ComputerGeeks often as they both list multiple cheap close outs every so often, my daughter's first cam was a $17 one from the Geeks that took CF cards and has an LCD. It's got a plastic body but took great pics and she still takes it along as a back-up. It was a Veo Capture 1300 and it still appears now and again on those sites.

Sams Club is clearing out their cams now also because the new models are coming in. My store had a stack of Olympus 5mg units for $115 yesterday along with some Casios for $170 if you're looking to spend that much.

My camera's too heavy. I'll have to keep my eye open for those 5mg units...

Did the same search last month - checked everywhere. Finally checked Sears. But y4ou have to ask. I asked for there clearance items. The kid didn't even know, but he looked. I walked out with a Sony 4 megapixel (last years model). Out the door after taxes - 72.##

FYI, I was at Staples and found an HP E217 on clearance for $69. Wednt to ring it up and it came up with a $15 insstant savings!! So out the door for $58 and DD has her Bday present!

Just thought I would pass it along in case anyone else was looking!
