I can't believe BoA is trying to charge me over $30 for 150 checks. Anyone have a place that they ordered from before that they liked?

You might check out this company. I purchased from them 1 order.
The prices are very low compared to the banks. I do not write many
checks anymore. I like paying with plastic.

I use checks unlimited too...I think one box of 150 basic one part checks was less than $15 shipped...

I use Deluxe (through my bank --- BofA) - I think I paid $18 for 400 checks. There was a thread on this a while ago in the Finance forum - I'll see if I can dig it up.

Occasionally, these third party check companies will advertise in the Sunday coupon inserts. Usually the different styles are shown and prices are way more reasonable than BOA. Most ads even have an 800# to save time.

Sams Club or Walmart has a decent price.

One thing to be aware of, most of these companyn offer very low rates to 'first time customers'.

If you EVER ordered checks from them [or an affiliated company, difficult to tell as they don't spell out who those are], even like 15 yrs ago, they try to hit you up for additional $$. I refused to pay the extra amount since they asked after they had already agreed to my order & mailed the checks, and the previous order was more than 10 years ago and at a different bank

I hardly write checks between my cash rewards cards and my credit unions online billpay. But I do need them now and then and ran out. So while making a deposit I asked the person behind the desk if I could have another free box of checks, and she said sure. Should be coming in a few days.
