If so, what? And how did it work out for you?

(Needless to say, I'm looking at one. )

Yep, I was offered some VALinux at IPO banana.gif

Unfortunately, I hung onto it, and still have it. bang.gif

Well, the good news is roughly 50% of the time you'll make money on an IPO purchase of stock shares. The bad news is you'll lose money 50% of the time.

Having been a pro-trader for over 3 years now I can tell you that its not wise for the first few weeks. There is often too much hype involved with big day-traders and institutions for at least the first month. Why not let those guys (including me hiding.gif ) duke it out for a while and then pick up some shares down the line. Unless of course, you are able to get shares issued to you before it goes public, in this case go for it if you think the company will be good in the long run. Which company are you referring to? Not the new NYX is it?

Goos suggested I wait too, and for the exact reason you stated. The problem with that might be the offering is 1/3 to Canadians, 2/3 to the Americans, and the Candaians wish that were reversed. Goos is going to see if it is possible for me to buy early.

If I tell you will you buy it out from under me? dry.gif
