I'm getting streaming video and audio from other countries programs through beelinetv.com. It opens up Real Player (or Windows Media Player). I want to be able to capture and put it on cd for viewing on dvd player. I have real player, windows media player, quicktime, and nero show time. I have nero as the burning software capable of recording cd (vcd) or directly onto dvd.

Can I do it with what I have?

I found wm recorder. Works pretty well as far as quality. Can anyone give some pointers to this app?

I have to know the address or location of the streamin media file? Can I set it to start when media player starts? Is there max size it will record before stopping by itself? The wm recorder stops at 1gig.

The WM Recorder I am using produced an asf file extension file. I prefer to view that from dvd media. Do I just copy the file or do I have to convert it to some dvd format to put on dvd media to be played on stand alone dvd machine? I have nero 7.

Finding the the address isn't that hard (ctrl+u in firefox). It even takes files which redirect so if you had a .asf file the redirects to a mms:// it'll be able to parse that for you.

I haven't tried to test for the max size since I've only download vides in the ~20megs. but I don't recall any type of limitation. However if your hdd is partitioned using FAT32, you'll be limited to 4GB anyway.

Testing out sdp to record on 2nd hd that has more space. It too produces asf file. I can not seem to copy that to cd or dvd media for stand alone dvd players. I would prefer sound and picture, but since I can't how about just sound. How can I convert asf to audio only that will play on stand alone dvd player?

Or...

I can play the recorded asf file on my computer. How about onto a vhs tape? I would need a vcr. What do I need to transport the asf from computer to vhs tape on vcr?

What you need now is a converter to something nero can burn. I'm pretty sure nero can take in avi or mpg, and a software like SUPER v2006 ( http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_so...oders/super.cfm ) will be able to convert asf to mpg for you.

I set it to convert to vob for dvd. Rest of the options stayed as default. Drop and drag the file I want converted. It produced a single file.

So I simply copy that to the dvd media?

in nero, specify you're burning dvd video and just drag it into the video folder.
