For those who didn't know, effective February 2006 (now) Staples has ceased participation in the AMEX OPEN discount program.

That stinks. OPEN really has nothing left to offer of real value. I guess now I'll spread my Staples purchases onto some other credit cards for rewards.

You get a straight 5% back on your credit card. This should combine with any other Fedex-side discount that you have. So, it's still worth having for that. And if I understand it correctly, you get an additional 5% cash back for Fedex purchases on the first $15000 you charge in a year, and 2% after that (please correct me if I got any of that wrong).

Thanks for the info - I have to look into some shipping discounts to save some money.

I'm considering switching to FedEx - still negotiating my discount - is this for daily pickup accounts also and do you print your labels online or through ShipManager?

With UPS I get a weekly bill that I pay through my bank so if FedEx is the same I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the Amex discount.
