i bought those sticks on various deals for a dimension 9100.

if I install one or the other set, system boots fine. When i try to install both at the same time, it starts beeping like crazy.

Any suggestions on how to get them both running?

yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion i came up with. It's still strange since i've been reading up that you can mix the two.

I'll just run 1gb for now and then find a deal on another set that matches.

I ordered a matching set last week. Got it today and installed. Worked fine.

still kind of weird that the other combination didn't work. oh well.
