When i look at the client list it seems to only list the dhcp clients that are connected via wireless. Anyone know how to see wired client list? I have v5 with 1.0 firmware

I have no clue how that client list works. It seems pretty random for me. Sometimes it shows the wired ones, sometimes it doesn't.
All I see right now is my brother's laptop (wireless) and my ReplayTV (wired), but I know that my laptop (wireless) and PC (wired) are also connected. Refreshing the list doesn't do anything.

You may want to take that v5 router back and get a v4 or lower. There are reports of MANY problems w/ that router on Broadband Reports.
That said, the DHCP Client List of the WRT54G should show both the wired and wireless clients connected to it.
If you have wired clients connected indirectly to the router via a switch/hub (where that switch/hub is connected to the WRT54G), a router reboot will cause those wired clients to be wiped from the router's DHCP Client List. Why? By being connected indirectly, the ethernet ports on the wired clients don't go dead during a router reboot (remember, they're plugged into a switch/hub in this scenario). From their persective, they maintain an active network connection. Thus, they continue using their old (and potentially invalid) DHCP leases w/o requesting new leases from the router. Therefore, the router's DHCP table is absent those clients. Upon rebooting the wired clients machines (or even power cycling the switch/hub), they should request new DHCP leases and thus appear in the router's DHCP Client List.
The wireless clients don't have the luxury of maintaining an active network connection during a router reboot. Thus, when the router comes back up, the wireless clients automatically request a new DHCP lease and thus appear in the router's DHCP Client List.

Ah, so THAT'S why my dhcp lists are always incomplete... thanks for a nice easy explanation Dig!
(fyi, I've got a wrt54g v2 running sveasoft, plus a netgear 5 port gigE switch and a dlink 5 port 10/100 switch, mostly full

edit: oh yeah, plus a belkin g router running as an AP at the other end of the house for those 2 machines...

Go buy yourself a v4 (or older) router at ANY RETAILER which has a liberal return policy (even on opened items) and still has older units in stock. After purchasing your v4 (or earlier) router, take the v5 one back to that retailer & return it. You will save yourself tremendous amounts of grief if you take care of the probelmatic router now before it really bites you.

I suggest checking out (in this order) the following retailers: Radio Shack, Office Depot, Staples.

Office Depot is where I found my v2 router. It was one of those stores that barely anybody ever goes to (which is probably why it's closed now

), so if you have any of those kinds of stores, then that's probably your best bet since it's more likely that they'll have older stock of products.

Me too - I got an older version at Office Depot.
