I just updated the BIOS on my 700m to A06, and noticed at boot it now says "700m/710m Series"! bumdrool.gif

Any word on the 710m? Am I going to have to upgrade?

[edit]Looks like they have it up on the APAC sites now, unfortunately the specs don't look any different than the 700m sad.gif

That's true, but I'd love to see -
  • better battery life
  • higher res screen
  • non-integrated graphics card
  • non-Fn page up/page down keys

Yep, an item-by-item comparison of the specs reveals no differences.

So I guess the only difference is the color of the keyboard.

non-Fn page up/page down keys

Amen!

I can live the short battery life, and the video performance is fine for non-gaming, but I really hate the keyboard. The Tn-based page-up/down keys are a pain, and I use them all the time. Also, the comma, period, and slash keys are all narrow, making touch typing impossible, so I end up "fat-fingering" those keys.

There was a funny thread I found over at notebookreview forums: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=30082

... where they said even the Dell employees were disappointed and they weren't bothering to issue a press release lol.gif
