I have set up a network and 2 of my computers can share files and printers and whatever on that network but for some reason the third computer can not share on this network. I am able to connect to internet but when i try to access my other computers by \\192.168.0.3 it says i dont have the permission. Also another problem is on that computer i am unable to start the firewall. it say unable to start firewall ICS.

I have set up a network disk for all computers and no success.. I hate when i dont know what is wrong... sad.gif

Please let me know what is wrong if you do. Thanks!

I am assuming you use Window XP Pro with SP2 on all your computers.
There are few things you need to check on your “third” computer.
  • Do you have the same WORKGROUP name as the other two computers?
  • Do you use the same logon user name as the other two computers?
  • Do you use the same password as the other two computers?

Welcome back qOtOp! Where have you been? smile.gif

jon2249 - on the computer that cannot connect - what is the IP address? Is it assigned automatically (DHCP)? I'm not sure of your computer knowledge so let me know if I'm speaking gibberish.

As BlueTDimly said, we are not sure of your computer knowledge, so I have to ask:
Are all the computers connected to the same router?

Also, try going to command (start, run, type "cmd" without quotations) and try to ping that computer from other computers. Then try to ping from that computer to the other computers.

Do you have ZoneAlarm installed on the computer that can't share?
