um, how many megapixel, for starters?

The photo of the camera appears to show 5.2 MP, but it's hard to see, for me, at least.

I have not purchased any electronics from Aldi, but the general consensus is that they are of good quality. They are actually not unknown brands, just unknown here in the US..... usually they are quite popular in Europe. (for example, they sell a lot of Medion). Since Aldi is a German company, they have the relationships with the manufacturers to sell these at good prices, I guess.
wtf
The MegaPixel is the important spec missing above. If it's anything over 5 MP, this camera seems to be a good value.

also make sure it's genuine 5mp, not interpolated, or that whatever the real megapixel # is, you're happy with it for the price

and yeah, from what I've heard a lot of their cheap electronics are legitimate european brands, not generic

Thanks for everyone advice. I was at my local Aldi last Saturday night and found no camera kits left in the display case. What is interpolated and how does it make a cheap camera a bad deal?
