Hey everyone, this should be an easy one to answer compared to my previous questions.

My main computer uses one stick of 512MB PC2700 (DDR333) Ram (Mushkin Basic). Now, with OM paying us to buy 256MB PC2100 (DDR266) Sticks and OD selling it for $5, I'm considering a good boost up to 1GB of Ram.

My main question is if it'll work out without any problems if I just plug in the two sticks? Will I need to underclock my faster 512MB stick, or will the slower ram hinder the speed of the faster ram? BTW, if it matters, I'm using the VIA KT333 Chipset (Albatron KX400+ Pro Motherboard), and am currently overclocking my Athlon 1600+ up to 1.53Ghz. Many thanks! smile.gif

I haven't looked at the specs of your mobo, but generally there shouldn't be any problems with mixing the two speeds. Either the 2700 will be underclocked so both are running at DDR266, or if the 2100 can be overclocked you can have both running at DDR333.

I'm a bit of an overclocker myself. I'm currently running an XP1700+ T'bred @ 1.8GHz and have the FSB synched with the RAM @ 166MHz utilizing Dual Channel DDR. Have the ASUS A7N8X Dlx.
