I need a converter that can open file, let me select which codec to convert to, click OK and let it convert,
I saw many softwares like that in $20~50 range but couldn't find anything free.

Any suggestions? Even if it's not free if you have one that you are using and highly recommend please let me know.

Maybe there is some free tool that will come close to the simplicity you are seeking. At least there is direction of what to use for which file types.
