What do you want to use it for? It is hard to tell how much horsepower you need without knowing what you are going to be doing with it. If you just want file and print services you can get by with a lot less than if you are going to have a web server with databases and other things like that which need more in the way of performance.

Windows 2000 Server Minimum Requirements:
133 MHz or higher CPU
At least 128 MB RAM, 256 MB or higher recommended
2 GB with 1 GB free HDD space
CD-ROM or DVD drive
VGA or higher resolution monitor
Keyboard

You don't need anything fancy, but I'd certainly recommend something better than the minimum requirements to run Win2000 Server. 512MB RAM couldn't hurt either smile.gif
