Ok I'm so tired of my crappy Kenmore vacuum that I got 3 years ago. I need a new vacuum badly!! I want a bagless for sure and a HEPA would be great. I'm looking for something in the $100-$200 range. If I had the money I would probably by a Dyson, but sadly I don't have $500 just laying around blink.gif !! Any and all suggestions would be great, I'm looking to buy this weekend. Thanks for your help, I love this board!!!!!! biggrin.gif

Two years ago I had the same problem with bagless vacuum's. I purchased a Sharp TU-2007. It has been wonderful. I paid about $125. It has no filters to clog up or replace. Everything is washable. It can be taken apart and washed. We have a dog and I vacuum everyday. A year ago I wasn't able to find this model so I purchased another Sharp model bagless for my daughter. It has plastic parts, where mine is medal, but she loves it also. Not much is ever mentioned about this brand, but I highly recommend it.

My parents have this one:

Hoover

They did pay the $279 around Christmastime. They have had good luck with it, especially the red light that says you need to vacuum more in this area. IT is on sale now for $99 with free shipping, then you get a $20 amazon CG back in a fre weeks. Net cost $79 is not too bad.

Here's a Hoover that has been heavily discounted: link

The reviews indicate trouble with reliability, but one of the more recent reviews indicates that Hoover may have switched to metal parts for the brushes (whose failure seems common). It's $120 but you get a $20 GC in a month or two from Amazon.

If you buy it, be sure to use a credit card that extends the warranty by another year.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I ended up purchasing this one at Amazon. I hope it gets here soon!! I went to my local Kohl's they had one there like this one, the only difference I seen were some of the tools. But they wanted almost $100 more than Amazon!!! So we will see how this works out. Thanks again! biggrin.gif

We have a Dirt Devil Phantom Vision . It really sucks and has hepa filteration. The nice thing about that is that you DONT SMELL dirt when vacumming
The bagless is fine. It also has a button to TURN off the roller in front OR if you restore the handle from bent to straight up position it auto turns off the roller brush , i.e.e in that mode you are using the hose.
emptying the cartridge is a pain i.e. do it in a bag and tap the center filter to get the dirt out. if no plastic bag it will be all over as a dust cloud.

the biggest problem with it is ait is HEAVY and hard to manover, since its heaviy and sucks hard. The other problem(not rally a problem) is that it is VERY hard to do rugs with it. (even with turning off the brush it sucks hard enough that the rug sticks to it and lifts. so someone has to hold it while other ones vacumms.

I have a bagless Eureka that I got at Costco about 5 years ago for around $150. It has a HEPA filter thingy too. It has been great so far. It's not a Dyson, but it has handled my 3 animals fur just fine so far. It helps if you sprinkle a little bit of baking soda on the carpet before vacuum. This cuts the static between the animal hair and carpet so that I get more up. The only thing that is a bit annoying is how often I have to empty it, but that's cuz I have so many animals.
