Survey on Patient Education in IBS:
Development and Validation of the Patient Educational Questionnaire

Investigators: Christine Dalton, PA-C; Albena Halpert, M.D.; Douglas Drossman, M.D.; Olafur Palsson, PhD.

We are conducting a study to find out what patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) already know about their condition and what they would like to learn, so that healthcare professionals can provide effective education on IBS.

All information will be collected in ways that protect personal privacy. Personal identification is needed only for mailing financial compensation.

$10.00 will be paid to participants 18 to 65 years of age whose IBS symptoms match the criteria required for this research project (based on a screening questionnaire) and who complete the study questionnaire.

Study requirements include:
18 to 65 years old.
IBS symptoms that match the criteria required for this research project.

has anyone done this? How long is it? Seems like you'd have to enter countless amounts of medical background info....tedious.

First page says "Participation will require only 45 minutes of your time" directly under the 'Take the Survey' button. That works out to $13 and change per hour which is decent for internet surveys but not fabulous. One who is familiar with online surveys (or who just answers randomly to everything) could do it in 25-35 minutes but it's up to you.

I may do the study when the children are asleep and not clamoring for a play partner.
