I have quick question concerning a deal found on another board, and wanted to know if any B$ members were in on this one or not. I guess I want to make absolutely sure this is a great deal before I call and join.....

It looks like the mother's day gift was for members that existed on mother's day. If you see something else, please let me know, as I'd like to sign my wife up.

Well, I broke down and contacted someone at the modern mom website after I heard how fantastic the gifts are for the 35$ a year membership. The mother's day box was worth over 200$ and they also send out packages in June for Father's Day, September for Back to School, and December for Christmas, all for that yearly membership. Anyway, I joined, and will let you know when my box arrives, if it was worth it.

I joined also, my bag is still on its way. I hope it was worth the $40!

I ordered one also and sure hope it comes soon! How long have you been waiting? I think I ordered mine either the day before MD or the Friday before MD.

I also haven't received mine.....sigh.... I am really hoping it comes soon, I have heard it is really fantastic. I will be sure to post as soon as it arrives.

I definitely think there is something fishiy going on here. I ordered mine on may 9th and they charged me immediatly. they said that i would be getting by the end of next week. then nothing after 2 weeks. emailed several times , she replied back only once saying it shipped on friday the 18th, and should be here in less than a week since i am in CA. still nothing. I have called them numerous times and the lady says lolita is responsible, leave her a voicemail or email her. she never calls back nor does she reply promptly. i havent seen anyone getting them from the past 2 weeks. i seriously doubt this is a scam. what do u all think? today called again, and she put me on hold seceral time sfor no apparent reason (to piss me off i guess) and as I was explainng to her she cut my call and transfered me to voicemail without listening to me or answering my questions. this definitely is a scam guys....very few claim to have received them ( just a thought...are those people who say they received in anyway signed up different names on all boards and are part of the modern mom club?...just a thought...no offence to anybody). i am sure i will dispute saying that they did not fulfil the benefits they claimed to give with membership, will see what happens.

If you signed up AFTER mother's day, they have not left you unfulfilled yet (at least in teh eyes of the credit card companies - in my eyes they bite...)

They say that ON Mother's Day, they send packages to members. That's why I posted above, they NEVER mentioned that they would send said packages to members that signed up after mother's day.

they said they have extended the deadline and are taking more members. i did not give my credit card info online. hey called me to take it. i specifically asked if i would get it still. they said within a week. and more bags to come later. thats the reason i signed up.

finally got mine after a ton of emails and talking 4-5 times on tthe phone. they sure would not have sent the m out if i did not do that...got it next day air by ups, and they had lied to me it was sent out long back.

So was it worth the hassle!?!?! I ask because I too purchased a membership and haven't received anything and then today I tried to get on their website and was told that I wasn't a member, yet my credit card was charged. After numerous emails back and forth, them of course stating that I must be confused because they can access my account and don't believe me when I say I can't access their site while trying to use my log on information. The final straw was when they told me that I paid for a membership and not the gift bag(s) and that it was a gift from them and I shouldn't act like I'm entitled to a bag just because I became a member~ I'll get it when it comes. Well I pointed out that on their website they listed their benefits to purchasing a membership and those so called Gift bags is one of the benefits and that if they weren't going to uphold their end of the bargain, then I wanted my money returned to me ASAP. My credit card told me that it's a good thing I did persue it because I only have 60 days from the time my account was charged to dispute it and if I waited the full 8 weeks like Modern Mom is telling everyone too-then it will be too late to dispute anything if the bags don't show up. IMO-I think they got overloaded with orders and don't have enough bags to go around and are just putting everyone off until the bags are either forgot about or it's too late to dispute the charge with your credit cards. Mike(dh) is saying they are buying time with that spiel about it taking 6-8 weeks to get, he went on to say hello, Mother's Day was over a month ago~LOL!!!! I hope everyone else gets their bags and please do tell what was in them. Hugs Bonnie

I copied this from another board, since I didn't get this because I demanded my membership be cancelled and a refund. I'm glad to say that I got out while I still could because it looks like to me that this is starting to fall apart on them, especially when they are starting to tell their members what they can and can't do with the free gifts they sent out to them. Hello it's a gift whatever happens to it after they give it away shouldn't be their concern~LOL!!! OH well-hoping everyone gets their bags soon with what they were promised(kinda also looks like they ran out of products and not everyone is getting what they were promised in their bags either). wow did you see this! got this in email today and i can not belive that they can figure out who is selling what on ebay but i can't belive why anyone would want to. these are really nice gifts that they are giving out!

I am writing to you all today to hopefully clear up some misconceptions about our organization and the status of our gift bags. First off, all members who joined before the cutoff will receive Mother's Day gifts, if you have not already.
As many of you know, in May we began sending gift bags to our members for Mother's Day. As we have done in the past, we receive items from our wonderful sponsors who provide products for our members to sample. The sponsors provide varying quantities based on their abilities. These are all donations for which we are very appreciative and in return for which we thank them on our site. The companies who provide these gifts are under no obligation to provide products for all of our members and we can never guarantee that all members will get each and every gift.

The purpose of Modern Moms Club is to offer mothers the opportunity to meet and establish friendships with other moms. On the National level, we offer statewide events and our discount card program. The gifts we provide are a "perk" of membership, if you will, not the purpose for membership.

We fully understand that the distribution of the Mother's Day gifts was not optimal. We received a large influx of members at once and were unable to keep up with sending them efficiently compounded with shipping and product issues. This was a giant learning curve for us, and we apologize that our members have had to deal with it. Based on this most recent gift season, we are outsourcing future gifts to a distribution facility which will ensure that packages are sent, and received, in a timely fashion.

We also realize there has been concern as to why we would recruit new members when we hadn't fulfilled all of the gifts for existing members. Yes, we did ask our members to help us reach a new membership goal, which we hoped would benefit all members in the long run. As we explained, by reaching a new level of members, we would be able to secure more wonderful gifts in the future. Until now, the gifts were fulfilled by our small staff. Because we are outsourcing the distribution of future gifts, we knew we could handle subsequent distributions in a very efficient manner.

That said, we have also had issues arise which threaten the future of this membership perk:

An alarming number of the items / combination of items are appearing on eBay for resale. If we find that a member has taken their gifts and are selling them in this manner, your membership will be immediately cancelled.
Members are contacting our sponsors to complain about certain items missing from their gifts and / or the delay in receiving them. As stated above, we cannot guarantee that all gift packs will include all of the items and our sponsors are under no obligation to provide enough product for all members. Our sponsors donate what they can and we should all appreciate that. Complaining to them only threatens the future of the gifts we can provide and as a result of such complaints, we've already had a significant number of our long time sponsors back out of future gifts.

We want our Modern Moms Clubs to be a positive experience for all members and do not want to see the gifts that we send disappear. We also want members who are a part of our organization to be positive and supportive of us and our efforts.

Therefore, if you have not received your gift bag as yet, cannot benefit from being a Modern Moms Club member aside from the gifts, and are unhappy enough that you'd like to cancel your membership, we will gladly refund your money. We want people on board who are excited and happy to be part of a growing organization.
