I'm looking for a home weight training machine (one or two users, not really important), and I was wondering if anyone had seen any good deals on them recently. My local Wal-Mart was clearing out an old model about two months ago and the display sold for $150, but I didn't get in on it in time. If anyone has seen anything, let me know!

Don't know about your area, but around here nearly every yard, garage, estate sale has some kind of weight training equipment. You might check your local classified ads in the newspapers.

I've been checking the Pennysaver and such on a fairly regular basis, but almost everything that I've found used is still assembled, and I would be using my Corolla to transport this, unless forced to do otherwise.

Um, so if you find a good deal, disassemble it! You were gonna buy a display unit, you would have had to tear that apart too! Hard to get good deals by being lazy, and you want a workout anyway.

Or rent the smallest U-Haul for a day to transport it. I know what a pain it is to only have a sedan with limited trunk space. Lots of stuff you can't drive home yourself and have to pay delivery fees for.

That why I have an Escort wagon, when that stops working I'll get another. Good cargo space, better mileage than the smallest SUV's, and a lot more secure than a truck.

You are still going to want to pull the thing apart though. Even if you have some buddies to help you move it, you're probably not going to be able to get the thing through the door to your house, unless you have a very large doorway. The typical working middle class homes around here have 30" doorways that making moving large items in and out a real pain.
