I would like to start researching a business plan. I am interested in opening a small laundromat business. banana.gif

No idea, but I would go look around the SBA goverment website for a while. I'm sure they have good info there.

I am definitely going to go. I have been putting this off way too long. How much do you think a start up will cost?

I would think that depends on a lot of things...How many washers & dryers? Are you going with new or used equipment? Will it be open 24/7? Gas or electric dryers? Special washers for heavy items like rugs? Will it be attended? Cost of insurance, utilities, maintenance, clean-up? Will you have amenities like pop machines, snack machines, laundry supply vending machines?

Here is a basic outline from a workshop I took from our loacal SBDC


i. Name of Firm

ii. Owner or Owner-tobe

iii. Overview of the Business
a.Type of Business and Producto or Servie
b. history

iv. Market Analysis
a. Customers (your market)
b. Environment
c. Competition
d. Competitive adavatages and disadvatages fro ytour business

v. Market Strategy
a. sales Strategy
b. Promotion Startegy
c. Projected Number of Customers and Items Sold

vi. Operation of the Business
a. Management
b. Offices/Plant
c. Personnel
d. Economic/Accounting
e. Inventory, supplies, suppliers, and equipment
f. Legal Requirements

vii. Finaces
a. Income/Expense Projections
b. Sources and Uses of Funds

Answer those questions, and you have a business plan.
I found it really hard to write all this, so maybe have someone "interview" you to help get it down on paper.

I am almost finish a project about a night club.
The above outline is exactly how I did mine.
Maybe I can let you take a look when it's done (probably within next week)
to get some idea.

That's cool! A night club! What state and location? Have you raised capital via earned income or are you just going to go for a straight SBA loan?
