As stated in the subject, I'm debating between Vanguard and Fidelity.

What questions should I be asking myself and the firm before making a final decision?

How do I decide on the type of fund to select? A link or book recommendation would be great!

Vanguard has always had an excellent reputation. But I don't really know who is best.
