I have recieved "fake" emails from people originated from Indonesia claiming he won the auction and asked me to send the item to address in Indonesia. They stated agreed to pay expensive shipping so I could ship right the way. I guess they thought I'm so stupid to mail the items without recieving the fund.

Just precaution.

Which is why I made a decision a while ago not to deal with international bidders anymore. There are so many things that can go wrong, especially with Paypal.

not to mention customs....

I have never shipped internationally. No loss to me as it wouldn't be worth the hassle.

Same here... got ripped off once - won't happen again. Only US and (sometimes) Canada for me now!

I had someone purchase a laptop. He requested it to be sent to Russia, he asked for the shipping to Russia and I gave him the price for shipping (even though I stated in my auction I only shipped to US & Canada). He sent me the money plus the shipping via Paypal. The Paypal account did not match his name and when I requested his eBay information it showed a US address. He never answered my questions about this discrepancy so I refunded the Paypal payment. A few days later another seller contacted me telling me the buyer was a fraud. He had bid on 5 or so laptops and probably had payed for all of them.

Just a warning that just because you receive Paypal payment, doesn't mean you will get to keep it if the transaction was fraudulent.

I sold a camera to France and a LCD to Britain with no problem.

Simply demand that international buyers pay only by money orders in US Dollars. Deposit them in your bank and make sure they clear, then ship the item. Weeds out the con artists who use bogus credit cards. I have been doing it for years. Just make sure you emphasize the policy clearly in the auction.

I'll ship most of my auctions worldwide. I ship to Canada a few times a week, Europe perhaps weekly and asia/aus/NZ/etc monthly with some s. american sales mixed in and have never had a problem.

I accept international payments by PayPal, MO in US funds or Western Union.

I'm planning on stopping PayPal with everything but US/Canada because of all of the PayPal horror stories - I'm also planning on getting a seperate checking account for PayPal transactions only.
