I found this cable for $3.95 + $3.50 shipping here.

It has a 3.5mm jack on one end with three contact points, and on the other it has 3 RCA plugs (yellow, white, and red) for the video channel and 2 audio channels. Typically these come with camcorders.

I'm looking for the cheapest total price for one. Can anyone suggest places (hopefully < $5)? Thanks.
dewolfxy
Found $5.74 shipped on ebay. Still looking for cheaper.

I doubt you will find it cheaper, most of cable website charge that much just for shipping.
dewolfxy
Yes, I doubt it too, but that is my challenge to you! smile.gif

I went to radio shack......saw the THIN cheapos...bought the 12 dollars shielded.

Hey.....is was high...BUT nice picture

I realize this goes against the deal hunting mentality, but would it be worth an hour of your time if you were able to knock an extra three bucks off the current lowest price? This is a hypothetical question... I don't think you'll be able to get it for much less than you've already found.

Are you buying this for one of those PSOne LCD screens?? Or are you actually going to use it with a camcorder?

Just wondering... if it's for the PSOne screen, I'd love to see what you're doing with it. smile.gif I want to mod one of those (just for fun), but don't have one (yet) and not sure what I'd use it for. I've seen some neat uses for them though. smile.gif

PSOne LCD screen, of course! biggrin.gif

I may actually buy a PSOne. If it was a DVD drive in it instead of CD, I would DEFINITELY buy one. I didn't realize how cute they are until my friend showed me his PSOne - it's a neat little device when you attach the LCD screen to it.

I'm considering building a little base to attach it to so it can sit on its own. My original thought was building or buying a VGA->composite adapter, so that I could use it as a little portable computer screen. I think it's too small for that though.

What kinds of mods for it have you seen?
Miranda
The ones I've seen are:

Miracle Ray - a way of using it as a screen for Game Boy Advance games.

Then there's the PSOne LCD in a PC

And there's a thread on CAG to use a PSOne screen with any A/V device, but I'm sure you've already figured out how to do that since you're buying this cable. smile.gif Here's the thread anyway (might have to be registered there to read it).

Plus, I've read some stuff about people wanting to use it in their cars (in the visor or headrests), but I haven't seen any pictures of that yet... I hope someone has some kind of tutorial for that soon. smile.gif

There's also the PS2 portable using one of these screens.

Here's a handheld GameCube using this screen... the thread where that image is from is here. Additional pictures from that thread (Pic 1, Pic 2).

I got my PSOne Screen today. smile.gif I already had some cables to use to test it out with... works great.

I left the protective plastic piece on since I just took it out of the box and just wanted to make sure it worked.

I still need to actually buy the cable though because the ones I used to take the pictures with are being used for other things. Was the one on eBay the cheapest??? (Look, I got the thread back on topic! tongue.gif)

Thanks for the info Miranda, and for your thread in Computer Help. The ebay one was the cheapest. I haven't gotten it yet, but I do have a shipment confirmation email (it was sent on Saturday). The ebayID of the seller was "razern", I'm sure you could find other ones he's selling if you search ebay. I'll post once I confirm the cable is decent, but I'm sure it's fine (the seller has a long ebay history, good feedback).
Miranda
That "razern" seller seems to be highly recommended by the guy I bought my screen from, plus a few other people on CAG. That's probably where I'll end up buying them. smile.gif
