ok, here's the thing, have now tried 2 different abit boards, an AN7 and a NF7, installed the board, put in 2 80 gig HD, dvd rom and dvd-rw, 2 sticks of 512 pc2700, AIW 7500 video, hook up all power connections and neither board gives ANY bios beeps and I don't get video either, tried an ATI PCI video card also and still can't get any bios beeps or video

Is there some sort of jumper Abit puts on these damn boards you have to re-do and doesn't come defaulted already? Read the manual and checked every jumper and have them all on default right now.

Any clues or could I have gotten 2 bad boards in a row?

Make sure you are not shorting out to the case.

Thought of that one, checked it again just to make sure and that's not the case either, used all plastic standoffs so I really am confused on this one now

I'd try it with the absolute bare minimum of components. Try it with everything out except vid card and ram.
Keggster22
did that also, even tried one stick of ram at a time, thing that really confuses me is trying agp and pci video.....and nothing

You sure the power supply is good?
Keggster22
everything powers up just fine, lights on the board itself even light up, HD's spin up, and the dvd rom and burner both fire up also

and you were correct, went and got a new one and then as I installed it and started putting everything back together, DS just had to pull me away just long enough to do something that even I can't believe I did, power up the supply before plugging the damn thing in the board, well, guess you know what happened next
