What the xxxx! I order a few PowerEdge 420 few days ago, and when I check the status, I find that not only they are using some carrier call Central Freight that I never heard of, when I click on tracking, they show me total of "ONE" package for 5 PE420 !!! blink.gif blink.gif
I see in other post that Dell is making custom box for Computer/LCD. Now, are they making custom box to put all 5 PE420 inside ?? How am I gonna ebay them with that box?? bang.gif bang.gif bang.gif

sounds like it will be tailgate delivery only also because of the weight of the box, wondering though if they put all 5 boxes on a pallet and are just calling it 1 box?

Keep your fingers crossed that's what they did

I've had Dell do that when I ordered 5 machines from small biz. Central freight hauls it only partway - it gets transferred between various trucking companies that handle local areas. It's all 5 machines in the usual individual boxes, loaded on a pallet and shrink wrapped. It'll probably come to you on a semi, so if this is coming to your house, give central freight a call to let them know that'll be a problem.

My last 2 orders of 400SC's came via Central Freight.

The first driver actually managed to get a semi into our housing plan. blink.gif

The second one thought better of it, and I had them meet me in the parking lot at work. The machines were shrink-wrapped on a pallet (yes, he handed the boxes to me one at a time, I didn't have to handle an entire pallet myself). I must say that I prefer this, because the boxes stay very neat & clean this way, great for ebay picture-taking. smile.gif

Unless you order a single server then servers are almost always shipped via a freight company. Central Freight is used a lot by Dell.

I once received a set of servers from Central Freight with big, black foot prints on each of them. Somebody clearly walked all over them.
