What is an iPod

An iPod is a portable music player, like the walkman of old days. However, instead of cassettes, an iPod uses an internal hard drive to store music. This music is placed into the iPod via a connection that is made by plugging in the iPod to a UBS or (preferably) firewire port on your computer.

Where can I find an iPod?
Apple Store
eBay
HP Shopping

I said where can I find one cheap!
Please See Our Referral Policy - I don't have the link handy, but there is a thread going on about this. My opinion? A huge YMMV.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Please See Our Referral Policy is a lot of crap, you need to get 5 people to sign on to 3 offers in addition to some 3 offers that you sign on. so its like a triangle scheme.

You should look into Dell DJ as an alternative to the ipod, lowest i saw for ipod was like $200 i think, lowest for Dell DJ was $129. I am not sure if there any deals going on. but Please See Our Referral Policy is crap.

Also Dell DJ, i think is pretty much Dell's version of ipod, same amount of space, but less $

I think you mean "pyramid scheme" - but yes, it's sort of like that. Don't count on it for getting a present for someone.

It's actually getting 5 people to do one offer after you do one offer. But i agree, it's a pyramid scheme and the people at the bottom of the pyramid have little to no chance of getting a free ipod.

Anybody have any experience with the Sony MiniDisc Players? I just can't justify spending $250 each on an Ipod for my 2 eleven year olds. This looks fairly reasonable and I was wondering if anybody has had any personal experience with it. I saw some on ebay too.

DO NOT get that, it's total crap. I have it and hate it and do not use it.

Reasons:

1. You have to either use Sony's crappy software or Real Player to transfer song.
(you still have to install Sony's software even if you will be using real player)

2. Each song has to be converted to ATRAC3 format before transferring, that means if
your current collection is in Mp3, it has to be converted to Sony's format to be able to be put on the MD
and this takes about 30 seconds PER SONG on my AMD 1700+ computer.

3. These things are not durable, they break easily and come only with 90 day warranty,
not a good thing for 11 years old.

Thank you. The reviews on Circuit City and amazon's websites seems pretty fair but I was wondering if anyone on this site had it. Now off to look for more options blink.gif
