Hello all, I just had a question about the windows updates that appear to be "automatically" downloading and I can't download other things because the puter is slow. I am still using dial-up....(was about to change to DSL when I was laid off from my job) The updates seem to be automatic but I was wondering if there was a way to turn them off temporarily while I download some things and then possible turn them back on????

This may be a strange question, but I have something important to download but at the rate of my updates, which is like 1 download per day...lol, I feel like I can't get anything done... bang.gif blink.gif

Sorry so long, just frustrated..

remember to turn it back on after your download is done. Nothin is more important that securing your computer and keeping it up to date.

Or keep them always off, but periodically, preferably every week, go to the windowsupdate.microsoft.com site, and manually select the critical updates.
