I have 4 t-mobile phones on a family plan from a great amazon deal a while ago. I see now that Amazon has the T610 for -$175 again... I know that T-Mobile only allows 5 phones per account. Does anyone know how their credit checks are? I'd love to order 5 phones and set up another family plan under my wife's name (and social, etc). It'd be the same address and phone though.

If I could do this, I'd make about $350 on the phones (after activation and year's service) plus then ebay them for more...

edit: I was wrong on my math - it'd actually cost me almost 300, not make 350 sad.gif

I decided to just call T-mobile and ask about this. I currently have a family plan w. 5 phones. They checked and said that I could get another family plan with up to 5 phones if I wanted. I don't have to pretend to be the wife or anything like that. And it wouldn't affect my first plan in any way (that is, my one year commitment would not be affected).

But it sounds like this varies based on the individual, so YMMV.

Great to know! I'll have to keep that in mind. Decided not to make the outlay this time, but I'll keep my eyes open for more deals smile.gif

Great to know!

Just in case I wasn't clear - this seems to vary from person to person, so you should call them yourself.
