hi:
my sister in law just bought the dimension 2400 from Garsh's Dell deal-upon my advice and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good price for a monitor-no need for LCD or flat screen-just a nice cheap monitor-anyone know of any??
while we're at it-how about a modem? where can we get that cheap?
Modems are very often FAR @ staples or Officemax. Just keep an eye out.

Hey...I have found some 15" and 17" monitors at garage sales. I got a sony for 5 bucks :-)
Even look at the Salvation Army and Goodwill store......Hit them when EVERYTHING is "half off days".
Beats any garage sales I have attended. I find cable and cords usb books tools...whatever :-)
My Salvation Army at times has good stuff.....BUT....its all timing :-)
Some days.......nothing :-)
well you guys are great but its my bad. I was away for a few weeks and the officedepot motitor is gone-anyone else can come up with a good monitor and modem deal??

If you're looking cheap, and depending on where you live, why not ask at your local dump? My dump has stacks of monitors waiting for recycling, and I'm sure some of them still work fine. The price would be right, until you found one that you liked -
HMMM...well I live in New York City and this seems to be in th eSan Francisco area so I guess I dont qualify-thanks though.

I think there is a FAR modem deal in the Staples Columbus Day deal. Its a Win modem. So if you want to use it with Linux, you might have trouble finding the "emulated" drivers. For Windows, they work great.
