I restarted my dual monitor computer and now my 17" lcd on my TNT2 wont even show. I goto monitor setting and it says the driver was written for a previous version of windows. Then my sister messaged me later and said she just got the same problem.

DrZ, do you both have the same monitor? Were any Microsoft updates applied recently? Any new software installed?

EDIT: Do you both have the same video card?

yeah, it's been one of those days for me.

if there weren't any new ms updates installed that's weird, but i assume you got everything working fine though?
Alan
The reason I mention MS updates is because they report some driver updates being available, dpending on the hardware you have in your system. I never install these. Had too many calls starting with "I installed driver updates that MS said I needed..."

yeah i learned the hardware a while back when msupdates had a sound card driver update for me. seemed like a good idea, but after i rebooted i had no sound. so yeah, i stay away from them as well.

well i ended up doing a system restore. AFAIK i did not install the driver update from windows for it. It doesnt auto download driver update from what i can remember and i know i wouldnt have d/l it on my own since they one it has listed is from june '03. So my system is back to what it was.

i'm glad a system restore helped somebody
