I have NEC1920 on an ATI AIW 9800 1280X1024 @60hz via DVI
NEC1765 on TNT2 64mb 1280X1024 @60hz via analog

on the 17" i get a shimmering picture, sometimes it is fine, sometimes it isnt. I have all updated drivers. The setup is being handled by NView Desktop.

help my eyes hurt blink.gif . I have tried different refresh rates for the 17". 72hz gives me the best picture, manual recommends 60hz for the display size im running which is its native res. I have tried different display timings and f'd around with every setting possible.

Are these on the same computer?

Also, do you use a monitor extension cord?

Recommended Resolution:
1280 x 1024 @ 75 Hz

try running at 75 hz and see what happens.

yes they are on the same computer and yes that is the monitor. no cable extensions or anything. I have a dual monitor setup with the 19". In the manual it recommend 60hz for optimal display. I have tried other settings and it just makes it really bad.

blink.gif With two different graphic cards enable in the same computer, using different configurations, sounds like power supply, CPU processing or input/output (IO) issue to me.
Shouldn’t you just use one graphic card with dual outputs support or some kind of signal splitter?
But that might not work, because the optimal resolutions and refresh rates are different with both monitors, unless you use the same resolutions and refresh rates.
tongue.gif Sorry, not much help from me!

Over the years, I have had many dual-monitor systems, and I have almost always had problems when trying to use two seperate video cards on one system. Especially with each on a different system bus.

I would recommend trying a dual-head card and see if that solves the problem. If you need one, I think I have quite a few older dual-head cards laying around, even PCI.

theshopper is probably right. Go back to a single monitor setup with the 17" LCD. If the shimmering disappears than its the 2 video card setup thats causing the problem.
