sounds like a windows messenger window to me. does it look like a windows popup window? here is how to stop it (you don't need this service anyway, unless you use windows messenger which i don't know one person who does):
start settings control panel adiministrative tools services look for 'messenger' double click on it change the startup type to 'disabled' hit the stop button so it will stop running immediately then hit apply then hit ok
then no more annoying msgs. if you ever decide you want windows messenger, which once again i highly doubt, you can always reverse this, no big deal.

i don't know how good allie is with computers, so just to be clear if you do it bassets way, once the new window pops up then you do the following:
look for 'messenger' double click on it change the startup type to 'disabled' hit the stop button so it will stop running immediately then hit apply then hit ok

well it turned out I have a trojan horse virus. I ran house call and it found the virus, I run Norton everyday and it never seems to find any viruses.

Those buggers probably can disable NAV or just aren't detected? Is that particular trojan in symantec's database?
