:johnwoo: drzoidberg a PM. he should know.

I am not sure as I dont have AMEX for stupid reasons. All you need to send is reciept and ad (with a date on it).

All you need to send them is a copy of the invoice showing the price you paid and the dated, printed advertisement where you seen the item for less with their price also shown. That is it. The Claim # must be written on every page you send them.

the printed advertisement can be a printout of a webpage, or even the shopping cart.. Make sure there is a date on your printouts.

Just did this for the first time myself yesterday:

1. If you find within 60 days of purchase an item identical to the one you bought and cheaper call to file a claim.

2. Call 1-800-557-8317 which is the BVG Phone # and is open 24-7

3. They will ask you the name of the item and the cost. Then they will ask you the name of the web site your are pm to.

a) They did not ask anything about a rebate being involved.

4. Next they will tell you to print out a copy of the advertisement which must have the date which usually prints at the bottom of the page when printing from a web site. You must also fax the store receipt of the item you purchased then either snail mail or fax (1-800-858-5971) info. to them. As mentioned before you must have the claim # on all papers.

5. It takes about 2-3 weeks for them to process your claim. I was told that I will receive a check in the mail rather than my account be credited

6. Everthing has to be filed within 90 days of purchase.

Got the check for my 2nd BVG today. Procedure is exactly as rdjdmj explained. Took exactly 14 days for the check to arrive for either claim. Check was cut 10 days after filing claim. I faxed in my information, otherwise add a few days mail runtime to Amex.

Very smooth and easy. Love it smile.gif

Thanks for all the great infomation.

Quick question, does Amex actually call the store you are trying to pricematch, i.e. to check if the price was a mistake or something like that.

I sure don't think so since I have price matched to places along they way that I have a hard time believing they actually did exist.

Heh thanks for the info. Do they actually bother about verifying any of the info, besides looking at the printouts you fax/mail them. Seems kinda lax. Prolly why they are getting rid of it, they should just be more thorough instead of getting rid of it if ya ask me. sad.gif
