Subject pretty much sums it. Are there any utilities that will move a whole program to a different pc, with all the registry settings, etc? I copied the program folder, but when I try to run it, it tells me that the installation is not complete and quits.
Thanks.
No real easy way - what program?

I don't think it can be done, practically, most programs nowadays have to be installed first, then run. I suppose it is theoretically possible, but the amount of work involved is quite alot, much easier if you find the installation software.
Well, I found something called "PC Relocator" but it was quite a hassle to get it to work so I didn't bother further.
The program I need is ABBYY Lingvo dictionary, and I'm still looking for a download, and no torrent sites even have it listed, it's not very popular but it's a great prog. Eh, maybe I'll just buy it if I don't figure out how to xfer it.
Tedious - I don't care... If I need, I'll hand-create registry entries if it'll make it work... Maybe I'll grep the registry for any traces that I can find and see what happens.
Thx
It looks to be out on eDonkey.

Recently I downloaded a few games (for example, Heroes of might and magic 3,4; Diablo2) from the internet. Those games do not have any install disc. It just came in a iso or rar file. Unzip the file to any local folder, and run the reg file. And the game is there, ready to play.
From this experience, I think if you can edit a reg file, you can just zip the whole software folder on your harddisc and move it to another computer.
iso is your best bet. either use the original iso that you have and copy over your saved game files or whatever, or make an iso of the directory. just using zip could cause problems.
