The best price(incl shipping) I can find on web is from http://www.xpcgear.com.

Another other comment? Or what's your favorite?

Initiall, I planned to go after Targus CoolPad, but after reading reviews on Amazon:

I changed my mind...

I actually have the Targus Coolpad and I've been happy with it. Yes, it's made of plastic, and for me that's a benefit as it doesn't weigh very much, is thin and fits well in my bag.

I feel a very noticable difference in the temp of my laptop when using the coolpad. It's pretty quiet too. I'd recommend it as an inexpensive laptop cooling device. Of course, YMMV depending on the design of your laptop.

after reading the reviews i would have to ask what your main purpose of getting the coolpad is. are you running a lot of programs that require a lot of work by your cpu? or do you just feel like having your laptop have some extra cooling.

also keep in mind when the people who reviewed it said 'it doesn't work at all' that doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. they didn't say how they tested it and compared it without the cooling device.

i myself have never had a cooling device for my laptop as i have not needed one. i have only had old laptops < 500mhz. although those do get warm, i do not see a cooling device as necessary in my case.

I have a Dell 8600, the heat mostly comes from HD.

Ditto.

I like that it's on a lazy susan too. I couldn't tell if the fancy one you linked to has that.
