i just called officemax and it seems that they pricematch to internet websites. have they always done that? that is sooo great with the 115% PM too so basically OM > Staples! but does officemax take competitors coupons or was that office depot? i get them mixed up a lot =P

maybe i'm a little late, but this is good to know that OM PMs online retailers. Especially when staples will be changing their policy soon. When one door closes, another door opens....

Well, I did get in on the WD hard drive deal last year (Jan/Feb 2002) at OfficeMax B&M, and I successfully pricematched to an Internet site (and used a coupon too!).

However, the next time I returned for another PM, the CSR said she got in trouble for doing that for me, and then she said they would only PM local competitors from then on.

For reference:

I'm not exactly clear on whether the policy is for OM B&M or OM.com, and/or how they are different.

Note: OfficeMax does NOT give you 115% if you PM to internet stores. Only a regular PM. From their website:

If you find a lower price advertised by any non-office supply superstore within 14 days after your purchase from OfficeMax, we'll refund the difference. Simply bring in the competitor's ad.

it gives 115% if it is office store like Staples.com or OfficeDepot.com. Other than that, I think it's 100%. It is hard to PM at OM compared to Staples but since Staples will drop online PM, I guess OM will be targeted until they change policy as well.

If you try to PM at OM, better PM first then call later said forgot to apply coupon. Otherwise they'll include coupon as part in PM.

i think its difficult to pm to officemax.com because only one person approves the pm. and my experience wasn't the greatest cause i didn't get my way.
