Plane Crazy was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon made by Walt Disney in 1928. But with sound movies all the rage, Walt shelved the silent short inspired by the famous aviator Charles Lindbergh and created Steamboat Willie, the first cartoon with sychronized sound, to launch Mickey's debut.
