I just came across a memo I sent to my coworkers in August of 1995:

DOS 6.2 and 6.22, which we have, has the following capabilities
that you might not know about:

defrag - Optimizes a disk by defragmenting its files

diskcopy - Duplicates an entire diskette

move - Moves one or more files to a different drive or
directory, and renames directories.

msav - Detects and cleans viruses found on your computer or
disk. **This is the most up-to-date virus checker we
have.

scandisk - Analyses and corrects problems with disks.

undelete - Restores one or more files.

xcopy - Copies files and subdirectories, whereas "copy" only
copies files.

The most sad part of this story is that the memo is still stored on my network drive...

I thought you were going to ask a question about 6.2 lol.gif

Last time I used the diskcopy command I think it was a 5" disk tongue.gif

lol.gif Yupp, I have clients that save just about every email, file & program they ever had. Some date back to the early to mid 90's. IMO, data overload.

I remember being amazed at the 4 colors of CGA graphics tongue.gif
Nack
Yes, and when those EGA games from Sierra came out, that was high technology. I remember going to Babbages and Electronics Boutique in the mall as a kid to check out the newest games, before going to the movies. Heh.

I forgot all about those places.

Hey, I still remember picking up a copy of Computer Shopper magazine and spending a week going through the 400+ pages of articles and ads for all the things I wanted but didn't really need and couldn't afford.

Come to think of it, it was sort of like a paper Internet (only without the porn). blink.gif

Some of the PC Magazines in the late '80s to early '90s definitely had some "questionable" ads towards the end of the magazine, though! bnaughty.gif
wtf
I still use xcopy from time to time. It has proven to be a pretty useful tool over the years.

I remember when DOS added the move command. So much easier than copying and then deleting!
