I need to cut down the shrub on the side of my house to plant roses; and I need tools to paint the house before I put the roses down on that ground

Any suggestion and / or coupon apply is appreciated

What tools are you thinking of for painting a house? Do you have wood siding? Wood trim? Personally, if it's something you're only going to use once, I'd rent whatever tools you need. I've done this on numerous occasions (scaffolding, jackhammer, etc.) and it's much less of a hassle. Local rental places (call around!) are usually very reasonable, and even the big box Home Depot / Lowe's are pretty reasonable for some things.

how big is the shrub? do you have a neighbor with a chainsaw? biggrin.gif

an old fashioned roller is good for painting. how big is the wall?
you have to prep it first- pressure wash or something.

The wooden fence is about 6 feet tall, the walls are much taller than the fence, they all were painted a few years ago, and do not need repair,

I want to change the color of the fence and the out side walls to lift up the color of the roses. I am looking for some cheap tools but can do the job till the last minute.

It would be great if I can rent the tools, that way I do not have to find room to store the equipment.

By the way, how much does it cost to rent the saw and the thing to paint the outside wall ?

how much money I can save if I rent the tools vs buy the tools?

Give me some advice, Please biggrin.gif

thanks

The shrub is about 3 feet tall, 3 feet wide, but the trunk is about 2 to 3 inches in diameter, spread over 20 feet long. I hate that shrub. I really want to cut it down

???

I do not know my neighbors, we live here over 20 years, but I seldom see my neighbor. Hihihi .., none of us step out side the house to mow the lawn, we hire people do it for us. I do not have much money now, I just want to do it myself to save the money .., I really do not know anything about my neighbor sad.gif

Give me some advice, Please

thanks

Depending how long that shrub been in the ground makes a big difference. One that been in a good while, really needs to be pulled out. A front loader or tractor, both with rubber tracks, is the best. If you can't tow a trailer, than ask around for someone with the equipment.

Now a cheap simply bow saw will quickly cut down most shrubs. The problem is getting the stump out and it will take time. A long handle pick axe or similar tool will help. Places where trees or other plants have been removed take years to return to normal.

Might want to get advice at a paint store. I know the professionals use equipment that require a decent air compressor and those paint sprayers aren't cheap.

If you do a search on stump removal, you'll find there's various ways to get rid of a stump...some are quick & simple, some more expensive and time consuming.

poor for me sad.gif

I hated that shrub since I moved in this house 20 years ago. I should remove it long time ago but I did not. Now, I am tired to take care of it and the snails that come out from that shrub. I have to cut it before the winter came ..,

If there is any good deal on power tools such as painter and trimmer, etc. please tell

thanks

Have you thought about hiring it done? With the economy the way it is, I'll bet there's someone willing to work for a decent price...too bad you don't live in IA as my now retired Hubby has turned into the town's odd jobs man... smile.gif

few years ago, when I hired people to paint the house for me, they painted it good but they pour the paint left over and some of the liquid cleaning solution on the grasses .., and it killed my lawn sad.gif

last 2-3 months, I had people to cut down an old, big tree on my back yard. They charged me 5K but they did not grind the stump completely, they left some of the roots in the ground, but I did not know it, I had green grasses covered on that spot .., now, everything show up, the grasses are green but the ground are not level..,

next spring I will let them dig it again to plant fruit tree on that spot .., I really need some shade for my house.

About the shrub, it is just about my waist, it looks so simple to trim it down .., I want to do it to save the money for this coming shopping season

I may let them pull out the root next spring, when I have rose, and/or fruit tree ship to my house ..,

Well. If I have the shrub removed before this coming winter, I really need to paint the house before winter and/or the new landscape was done . I am looking for the right tools to do the job . I am living in CA.
