I'd like to offer my 2¢ on this:
When I went back to Hong Kong last month, I picked up a few packs of the Eneloop AAA battery. Each pack consisted of 4 batteries and was sold for ~$7.75/pack, which was much cheaper than buying from Amazon.com. I was told by the vendor that the pack I purchased wasn't fake, but it didn't go through the necessary testing in the warehouse, so that's why it's cheaper than the retail packs. From one of the reviews in DealExtreme, a user mentioned how one of his Eneloop AA batteries seemed bigger in size than other Eneloop batteries he owned. This may or may not be a case that the item is fake, but had I not go to Hong Kong, I'd rather pay a little more and get a genuine Eneloop pack from Amazon.com.
