I have a client who may want to start holding weekly meetings online - more like weekly updates to his staff. Right now the thought is to have it be a one way live communication - he will sit at his computer with a webcam and broadcast live (audio & video) to the attendees. There will be approximately 20 attendees and may grow to 60+ in the future.

I know about GoToMeeting, WebX and their associated products & services. Are there any others you would recommend I look at? If you would recommend GoToMeeting or WebX I'd like to hear that too. Looking forward to any comments, recommendations and opinions. Thanks!

LiveMeeting is an option that we use here at work. There are a number of vendors that use it if you don't have an Exchange server running.

I've never used it as a presenter before, but I was an attendee and it worked pretty well. The default screen size might be a little small, but I think it can be resized.

It's free for up to 20 people and you can upgrade to the paid version for more people.

I just watched the dimdim video tour. Looks good - much cheaper than Webex & GoToMeeting. Thanks Miranda.

Narc, I thought about LiveMeeting, but choked when seeing the cost. Thanks for the suggestion though smile.gif
Professional User: $15.42/mo. (per user)
Standard User: $4.58/mo. (per user)
There's volume licensing available, but it can still get expensive very quickly.

LiveMeeting is free if your client has Office Communications Server 2007. Internal (domain) users only, though.

Thanks for the info BlueT. no Office Communications Server. In fact, no server whatsoever.

There's 3 people that work in an office on a full time basis, 3 part time and 20 out in the field. The owner is looking for a way to hold a live weekly update meeting where people out in the field can view him along with a powerpoint or whatever he wants to show. Today they do meetings via a phone conference and he'd like to add another dimension to it. I proposed the idea a couple of years ago, but we never got around to it.

It may grow with attendees because if he likes the way it works he may start to invite a couple of other business owners to join in with their staffs. Always need to be prepared for growth smile.gif

I was going to mention Office Communicator, but I see from your other comments that's not really possible.

I do like it though, nice IMing client, decent file share, good voice functions as well. Haven't used video yet, but I know it's available. It's nice how it hooks in with Outlook.

I have also used WebEx and liked it, but as you mentioned it is expensive as well.

Looks interesting. I'll take a closer look at it over the weekend. Thanks.

Adobe Breeze (now called "Acrobat Connect Pro") is also a great option. They offer pay per use and pay per month options.

My brother pointed this out to me recently, it saved me hours on the phone with my Dad helping him out with his computer.

It really is a great little program. You only need to download the main program (for free) on one machine and then the other machine just needs to run the small app. and you have complete remote control.
