Amazon buys Zappos.com
QUOTE
Amazon.com Inc. reached a deal to acquire online apparel and footwear company Zappos.com Inc. in a deal worth more than $800 million in cash and stock.

Amazon plans to keep management intact, and the company will operate its brand independently with headquarters in Las Vegas. The deal is expected to close this fall.
