It's for credit to your credit/debit card, not for a Wal-Mart GC. Currently being tested in 77 Wal-Mart locations in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

I have not seen one of these machines, but I would guess that it can. Something like "please place the game CD in the slot"... "verifying"... "please place the game box in the slot to your right"... "please swipe your credit card to receive credit of $5.00"... etc.

On a similar note, has anyone else checked out the RedBox video rental machines?

I just tried them on the last trip to Chicago. It's $1 a night, through 9pm the following night. But the DVDs can be returned to any RedBox anywhere in the US. So we could rent them here for the flight to Chicago and then return them once we get there (or for the return trip as well). See if there are any near you at Redbox.com
