The WaMu credit card operations have now officially merged with the Chase operations.

This means that you can now transfer credit lines between the two and close off one of the cards if desired. A handy feature for those folks who need to adjust their utilization between cards.

In addition, WaMu cards can now be converted into Chase branded cards at the customers request.

WaMu cards should start showing up in your Chase account. You may have to manually do add them via the "Add Account" link within your Chase account.

Details on the credit line transfer:

No real trick to it. Just call up the phone number on the back of the card. You will have to leave some minimum credit line on the card getting reduced (somewhere between $100 and $500).

After the credit line is transferred, you can leave the card with the small credit line intact or just cancel it.

If you decide to cancel, the existing balance will not transfer to the other account. You'll have to pay off the remaining balance via a final statement.
