Put Play In Your Day
On Saturday, April 18, 2009, the YMCA celebrates Healthy Kids® Day, the nation’s largest health day for children and families. In its 18th year, Healthy Kids Day is an active, educational and empowering day that assists children and families who want to lead healthier lives but struggle to do so. This step in the right direction can get them started on the path to wellness. But, it is more than just a day – as the leading health and wellness resource in the community, the YMCA’s goal is healthier kids, families and communities on Healthy Kids Day and all year long.
An opportunity to “Put Play in Your Day,” Healthy Kids Day offers fun, engaging activities to encourage children and families to adopt behaviors that support a healthy lifestyle. This year, over 800,000 children and families are expected to attend events at more than 1,700 YMCAs across the country. Activities will include health screenings, educational projects and physical activities. All events are free and open to the public. For more information, please visit www.ymca.net.
