Recently only on my XP desktop I noticed two things happened. One I can no longer log on to LiveMessenger (using the MS repair doesn't work) and Two I keep my browser page almost full screen except for a slot at the bottom the size of my Start bar. Normally I have the favorites sidebar open and the web page will fit side to side between the favorites sidebar and the right edge of the monitor screen. When Messenger quit connecting I noticed that the web pages that used to fit now need to be scrolled side to side to see the whole page.
Looking at Google I see many entries about Messenger not connecting and a few have mentioned TCPWindowSize as an item that may affect the messenger problem. I have not changed any of the settings, but is the TCPWindowSize the same as what fits on my screen (I have not changed text size either)?
This machine used to log onto messenger just fine and now it will not connect under any of my log ins.
I'd also like to get back to being able to see my favorites and still have the open web page fit in the remaining window without the need for side scrolling.
Any ideas?
