I bought a Maxtor 160GB hard drive from Staples back in June. I still haven't received my $80 rebate check and Rebatehq is absolutely no help. Every month the same thing "wait 30 days".

Yesterday I got fed up and called Maxtor directly. The CSR took my contact info and said someone will be getting in touch with me. I thought "yeah, right".

I just got a call from Maxtor saying my check was issued today and I should be receiving it within a week (actually 7-10 days). YAY Maxtor!

If they could have just sent the original rebate within 6-8 weeks that would have been better. But, I was impressed with the phone call. I'll buy their product again....maybe

my faith in maxtor has to be tested soon

I recently swapped out a maxtor 40 gb out of a computer....and replaced it with a new 120gb.........

luckily everything transferred over perfectly....

because a month later....when i tried to boot the 40gb......it makes a high speed whine and won't get recognized

i got lucky i bought this 40 gb when they had a 3 year warranty instead of the current one year

was this check from the rebate center or from maxtor directly? maybe you can double dip
